Programs
The Huron Housing Authority offers programs designed to support safe, affordable housing for income-qualified residents, including home rehabilitation assistance and security deposit help.
Home Rehab Application
The Huron Home Rehab Program, administered by the Huron Housing Authority, provides financial assistance to eligible Huron homeowners to help address necessary home rehabilitation needs. This program is funded by the South Dakota Housing Development Authority through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
HVC Application
The Huron Housing Authority’s Housing Choice Voucher program provides rental assistance to low-income families in Beadle County. Participants are free to choose a privately owned rental property, as long as it meets program requirements for condition, rent, utilities, and household size. Once eligibility is established, families generally pay about 30% of their adjusted annual income toward rent and utilities, with the program covering the balance.
Security Deposit Application
The Huron Housing Authority provides security deposit assistance to help income-qualified individuals and families access safe, affordable housing. Rental units must meet inspection standards before move-in. Eligible applicants may receive up to one month’s rent toward a security deposit by meeting income limits, providing a one-year lease, and completing the required application process.
