Housing Choice Voucher
The Huron Housing Authority’s Housing Choice Voucher program provides rental assistance to low-income families in Beadle County. Participants are free to choose a privately owned rental property, as long as it meets program requirements for condition, rent, utilities, and household size. Once eligibility is established, families generally pay about 30% of their adjusted annual income toward rent and utilities, with the program covering the balance.
Security Deposit Assistance
The Huron Housing Authority provides security deposit assistance to help income-qualified individuals and families access safe, affordable housing. Rental units must meet inspection standards before move-in.
Eligible applicants may receive up to one month’s rent toward a security deposit by meeting income limits, providing a one-year lease, and completing the required application process.
